Advantage:

  • It can move a large amount of mixed mud, that is, grapes, peels and seeds, as well as fruit juice or wine, smoothly, without pulsation, gently and with minimum shear.
  • Self-priming design and its efficient use in long-distance pumping.
  • Simple structure and easy maintenance.
  • The flow is proportional to the speed.
  • Low cost of investment, use and maintenance.

A technique used during maceration where the fermenting wine is pumped out from the lower part of the tank and poured over the solid cap of grape skins that float on top. We do with all our red wines to extract the optimal amount of color, aroma compounds and tannins from the skins of the grapes.

Monoscrew Pumps are fantastic pumps for winemakers. They are gentle, non-aerative and self-priming. However, they are a very expensive pump design. All of the must pumps that we carry are rubber impeller pumps.
