Moyno Tri Phaze
The progressing cavity design consists of a single-threaded, external helix (rotor) turning within a double-threaded internal helix (stator). As the rotor turns within the stator, cavities are formed that progress from the suction to the discharge end of the pump. The fluid flows in a spiral path through the pump not far removed from a straight line. The resulting low shear pumping action will not emulsify the oil and water phases, therefore making separation easier at the processing station.
The Description of Moyno Tri Phaze
Moyno Tri Phaze pumps were prompted by a market need for a more efficient multiphase fluid transfer solution.
The patented progressing cavity design effectively pumps oil, gas and water from the well through a single pipeline to a remote processing station without degradation or emulsification of the fluids. It effectively transfers multiphase flows up to 80,000 BPD and differential pressures up to 1,350 psi.
Moyno Tri Phaze pumps reduce wellhead pressures, and the system has been proven to increase production of even marginal wells. Furthermore, it can handle high gas volume fractions, high sand percent, aromatics, changes in API gravity, and H2S gas.
The Application of Moyno Tri Phaze
The Moyno pump is commonly used for applications involving the transfer of abrasive or viscous materials, such as slurries, sludges, and industrial waste. Its unique design features a single helical rotor that rotates within a stator assembly, creating a smooth, low-pulsation flow that minimizes shear and reduces maintenance requirements. This makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of industries, including chemical processing, oil and gas, wastewater treatment, and food and beverage production.
The Features of Moyno Tri Phaze
- Uses a small electric motor that operates at slower speeds
- The patented design handles high gas volume fractions without premature breakdown of the stator due to excessive heat build-up.
- When compared to a new battery installation for a new or exisiting formation, the Moyno Tri-Phaze System costs less to install, maintain and operate, and is environmentally friendly.
Production Benefits
- Increases oil and gas production on marginal wells by decreasing bottomhole pressure (BHP)
- Extends the lifecycle of the artificial lift equipment by decreasing BHP
- The patented Moyno multiphase pumping action will not emulsify oil, gas and water, increasing the efficiency of downstream separation
- Effectively handles gas void fractions up to 95%
Capital Benefits
- Eliminates compressor and dual pipeline arrangement for transfer of separated gas
- This multiphase pumping system can be readily moved
- Eliminates the need for battery and separation equipment at the well from wellsite to wellsite, potentially reducing the number of required systems
- This complete pumping system is capable of handling and controlling a broad range of application parameters associated with multiphase transfer
Environmental Benefits
- Eliminates the need for flaring gas at the well
- Eliminates local water storage, disposal and transport
- This complete, packaged system represents minimal environmental impact because of its smaller footprint, lower noise emissions and higher efficiency than competing technologies
